Notes
The elevation gain was pretty tough. The weather was sunny and hot with evening thunderstorms but no rain. The inbound plan was to go on to Cameron Hut but we aborted due to low water. Five others at Kiwi Saddle Hut. Slept in the tent.

Notes
First overnight hike with Kate, Lucas, and Theo. Took the tent as bunks might not be available over a public holiday. More elevation than expected following the river. The kids did really well. Slept in the tent with Theo as many were staying in Te Puia Hut (including the Wellington Hiking Club). The river was beautiful. Lots of trout. Left early to beat the rain.

Notes
Overnight hike with Kate, Lucas, Theo, and Erin. Easy track but Lucas did take a fall inbound. Great little swimming hole.
